John Hatten, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Physical Education

The students that I serve have the potential for greatness and it is my charge to see that they live up to that potential."
Dr. Hatten received his BS degree in Nutrition and Fitness from Florida State University in 1998. He then received his Master in Curriculum and Instruction, and Doctorate in Physical Education degrees from Florida State University in 2001 and 2004 respectively. While completing his Doctorate he taught in public school and served as the Physical Activity Coordinator for the Florida Department of Health's Obesity Prevention Program. Once he completed his Doctorate he then joined the staff of Florida Southern College in the fall of 2004.
Dr. Hatten is the faculty advisor for the Epsilon Eta chapter of the National Phi Epsilon Kappa Honors Fraternity, Associate Editor of the International Journal of Fitness and a Reviewer for the International Journal of Obesity. He is active in research pertaining to Student's Interest in Physical Education as well as issues suurounding Pediatric Obesity and Nutrition.
