Barbara Hilderbrand began working at Florida Southern in 2011. Prior to coming to FSC she served as the Metadata and Digital Collections Librarian at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, and as the Chief Cataloging Librarian at the U. S. Geological survey's Main Library in Reston, VA. She holds a BA in History and Political Science from Anderson University and a Master's in Library Science from Indiana University.

She is a member of the American Library Association, the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services, and the Library Information Technology Association.
