"Insure that students actively participate in the learning process rather than become passive recipients of information. The best part about teaching at FSC is the emphasis on making the student responsible for developing the skills for learning, which is a process that will continue after graduation. In my Tests and Measurements class, the students not only research the various standardized tests but take them, score them, and write evaluation reports."

While at Florida State, Dr. Burnette conducted vision research with the Limulus Crab and ran the rat lab. Dr. Burnette is a member of the American Psychological Association Division # 5 "Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics". He has served as a College Board Consultant and as president of the Florida Institutional Research Association. He is currently a tenured member of the psychology department.
