James Lynch, Ph.D.
Professor of Athletic Training
"Applying and interpreting information in a variety of settings and situations is an important skill for athletic trainers. I spend a lot of time relating current lecture material to information learned in previous classes. I intersperse the acquisition of manual skills such as the identification of anatomic landmarks with the lecture material. I try to establish a strong knowledge base that students can draw from during their extensive clinical experience at Florida Southern College."
Dr. Lynch arrived on the Florida Southern College campus in August 2003 as a professor and clinical education coordinator in Athletic Training Education. Dr. Lynch completed a Family Practice residency at University of Kentucky and then joined the primary care sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He was one of the team physicians at Penn State University for several years and did extensive volunteer work for the United States Olympic Committee. He was awarded an honorary membership in the NATA in June of 2008.
