2013 Student Orientation Schedule

SATURDAY, AUGUST 17
8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center & Ordway 162	Residential Students Check-in Students should report to their assigned check-in location. Move into your residence hall after check-in. Bookstore open 9-4. Business Office and Financial Aid will be located at Check-In.*
1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Ordway 162	*Commuter Students Check-in
Check-In is required for all new first year and transfer students including residents and commuters. You will be cleared to begin classes and meet an Orientation Leader. Check-In will take approximately 30 minutes.
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Ordway 119, 121 & Aerobics Room	Family Welcome Room While your student is completing Check-In, please stop by to pick up campus resources. Faculty, staff and current students will be on hand to answer your questions.
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Residence Halls	Residence Hall Move-In Start moving your boxes, bags, and bundles, with help from the Move-In-team, into your new home away from home.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Sand Volleyball Courts, Mr. George’s Green, & Pool	Volleyball/ Ultimate Frisbee/Swimming Join in on a pickup game of sand volleyball, ultimate Frisbee or cool off at the pool!
11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Your choice	Lunch Enjoy lunch with your family! We have several options on campus and in the surrounding area. Students eat free at Wynee’s Bistro with their FSC ID. Guest price is $8.50.
2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Rogers Auditorium	Commuter Student Success Tactics Explore out-of-classroom facets of commuter life on campus. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet other commuters and learn how to navigate your way around campus.*
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Residence Hall Floors	*Residence Hall Floor Meeting -- Attendance is required! Meet your Resident Advisor (RA) at this mandatory meeting. Programming, community involvement, campus network connection, hall leadership opportunities, and building policies will be discussed. Attendance is required!
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Branscomb Auditorium	President’s Welcome (Families & Guests) President’s Welcome (Families & Guests) Join President Anne Kerr as she shares why Florida Southern College is “On the Move.”

5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. TuTu’s	Desserts on Us The friendly Roux Library staff welcomes you to stop by TûTû's and enjoy refreshments in what will be one of your student’s favorite study spaces on campus.
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Christoverson Humanities Building Lobby	Parent Reception & the FSC Experience Meet and mingle with other families joining the Florida Southern community, learn about the resources available on campus and discover ways your student can get involved.
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Branscomb Auditorium	Moc Pride! (Students) Put some pep in your step and some Moc in your walk as you meet the 2013 Orientation Leaders!*
8:00 p.m. Small Group Location	Orientation Small Group Activity (Students) Spend some time getting to know your fellow group members.*
9:00 p.m. Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center	Evening Entertainment (Students) Candid Dates is a game-night mixer where players star in the show. Players never know what will happen next. It’s a night of comedy and connections that ends in a giant headphone dance party.*

9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Branscomb 202	Mass Father Ramon from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church leads a traditional Catholic service for our students and families.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Waterfront	Explore the Lake Discover FSC’s beautiful setting and take advantage of activities on the waterfront by enjoying running, biking, or kayaking.
10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.	Please join us for light refreshments outside of Annie Pfeiffer Chapel. Continental Breakfast
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Annie Pfeiffer Chapel	Chapel Join Chaplain Tim Wright and our student praise band for a non-denominational service.
