Summer Strings at Florida Southern College

Who Can Attend?
Summer Strings is open to students entering 6th – 12th grade in the FALL of 2013 (next school year). Students must have at least one year of playing experience and their director or private instructor’s signature. Summer Strings will only be offering a DAY schedule, no Overnight.
What Will Be Offered?
Summer Strings offres string students the opportunity to develop their playing skills in an atmosphere that will be both challenging and fun. Students will learn orchestral repertoire, attend ear training/theory, perform in small and large ensembles, supervisd practice time, attend master classes, and perform a final concert on Friday, June 21 in Branscomb Auditorium.
Tuition:
DAY CAMPER ($295)
Fees for a “Day Camper” include lunch M-F, T-shirt, large and small group instruction.
Registration:
Complete registration form and return with a required, non-refundable $50 deposit (which applies toward the camp tuition) by the deadline – May 24, 2013! The balance of the tuition is due by May 31.

DEADLINE for $50 Deposit – May 24.
Audition and String Placement:
During Registration Check-In, students will do a short audition to help the staff place them into the correct orchestra and chamber ensemble.. This will ensure the student receives the best instruction possible. The student can prepare one of the All-State Etudes, a short solo, or anything that represents their level of artistic and technical ability.
