Florida Southern College is nationally known for engaged, active learning. Programs of distinction include:
Student-Faculty Collaborative Research - Students have the opportunity to work in groups of 2 to 5 students with a faculty member on key research projects in a variety of disciplines. Results are often published or presented at national conferences.
Study Abroad - Florida Southern sponsors trips to 13 international destinations including China, United Kingdom, Australia, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain. Students can choose to spend a semester abroad or take shorter courses in a variety of disciplines.
Honors Program – Academically talented students who seek a highly-rigorous program of study may apply for admission to the FSC Honors Program, which provides exciting exploration of interdisciplinary topics, as well as more extensive study of selected topics.
EXL courses – designed specifically for incoming first year students, EXL is conducted in a dynamic discussion format, allowing students to work together in groups to explore interesting and very unusual topics such as Restaurant Nation: The Menus Tell the Tale of Our American Culture and Everything I Need to Know About College, I Learned from Disney, while providing a great way to become acquainted with other students and faculty.
Career Center – Services include personalized career coaching; job search assistance; Career Expos; seminars; resume critiques; mock interviews; and graduate school planning.
The Festival of Fine Arts – This exceptional arts forum presents world-class artists in concert, plays, ballet, opera, art exhibits, and jazz events. All full-time students receive complimentary admission.
Other distinctive programs include internships, independent study, ROTC, and many more.

Campus
Florida Southern is located on a 100-acre campus, with 60 structures including a renovated science building, modern auditorium that seats 1,800, student-recital auditorium that seats 200, 19 computer labs, a communications building equipped with its own computer labs and television studio, modern residence halls, a remodeled dining hall and a cyber café located within the library, a state-of-the-art wellness center with a world-class Olympic swimming pool and gymnasium, tennis courts, ball fields, soccer stadium venues, and intramural facilities that are home to soccer, basketball, tennis, and a wide variety of other activities.
Athletics
The Florida Southern College Moccasins are members of the NCAA Division II and include student-athletes on 18 varsity sports. The Mocs are proud of 26 NCAA Division II national championship titles and more than 420 All-American athletes. FSC offers 12 intramural sports, in which almost 50% of all students participate.
Activities
Florida Southern students are actively engaged in more than 70 clubs and organizations, including special interests clubs, Student Government Association, Young Republicans, Young Democrats, sororities and fraternities, and many more! Students are nationally known for outstanding leadership skills, which result from these outstanding activity opportunities. Students are also very involved in student service projects and volunteer more than 32,000 hours each year to benefit local agencies.

Single and double room choices are available. The FSC Resident Advisors are outstanding campus leaders and coordinate great hall activities.

The campus is located in Lakeland, Florida, one of Florida’s most beautiful cities, in the heart of Florida’s high-tech corridor. The campus is situated on Lake Hollingsworth, which is home to the FSC water ski team. The 3-mile lake perimeter walking trail is a favorite gathering place for students. The city has wonderful restaurants, theatres, golf courses, shopping options, and museums. It is a short drive to some of the nation’s most popular beaches.
