Originally conceived as a parallel-text presentation of Abbo of Fleury’s Passio Eadmundi, Ælfric of Eynsham’s Old English Passio, and the Anglo-Norman anonymous passion . . . , the site quickly grew to incorporate other elements, notably manuscript images, a biography of Abbo, and the Abbo entry in Sources of Anglo-Saxon Literary Culture." Everyday Life in Renaissance England For the most part, this website is pretty boring. There are no pictures, and most of the website explains the lives of the peasants, including their life expectancy, and the possibilities of moving up into a better social class. The best thing about the website is a chart of the social hierarchy of the time. Sixteenth Century Renaissance English Literature (1485-1603) This site is very exhaustive and covers more than a few Renaissance and Sixteenth Century writers, as well as including some texts. Essays are thought-provoking; some are submitted by students and are especially helpful if students are the ones reading them. This site covers almost every aspect of the Renaissance, either directly on the site or by providing the link. This site is a little more elementary, but a good source for basic information, especially if a student is more concerned about one geographical location as opposed to another. It has information on how the Renaissance movement spread throughout Europe. This site provides excellent basic information on the cultural influences on literature during the Sixteenth and early Seventeenth Centuries. Good source for those requiring a little information on a lot of Renaissance subjects/facts, or to see its relevance on different parts of the world at different points in time.
