Where are you from?
Lakeland, Florida
How long have you worked in the Office of Admissions at Florida Southern?
In my first
year as a student at FSC, I began working as a student worker and Southern Ambassador. I fell in love with the
field and eventually became an admissions counselor assistant. Now I have the exciting opportunity to inform
and guide students on the benefits of FSC as an admissions counselor!
You’re a Florida Southern grad. What’s it like to work here now?
I have stayed in
touch with my professors and always learn something new when I meet them for lunch occasionally. It’s a
relationship I really cherish.

What's the best tradition or campus event at Florida Southern?
I enjoy all the campus
events at FSC, especially Greek philanthropic competitions. They are healthy, fun competitions for a great
cause!
Do you have a favorite spot on campus?
Roux Library and the Wellness Pool. I love to
pick a good book and lay out in the sunshine!
Describe your idea of a perfect Saturday in Lakeland.
It would start with a run around
beautiful Lake Hollingsworth, then downtown to Black Swan to pick up a new vintage book and then to Mitchell’s
for a muffin and coffee.
Tennessee, and the following counties in Florida: Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia
Night by Elie Wiesel is an all-time favorite—a quick read, but very insightful, and poetry, including D.A. Powell and Billy Collins
Bachelor's in English with a minor in Sociology from Florida Southern College
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” —Eleanor Roosevelt
What about hobbies or outside interests?
I love reading and creative writing, but I
also like to stay active by running, rollerblading, and doing anything outside in the sunshine. Of course,
shopping, going to the beach, and meeting friends at local restaurants are activities at the top of the list,
too!
Any favorite restaurants or hangouts in Lakeland?
I love Black and Brew for a yummy
flatbread or salad…but Bosphorus, the Turkish restaurant, is also delicious when I’m in the mood for
spice. Best of all, they’re both downtown!
