Where are you from?
Lakeland, Florida
What do you enjoy most about working with students?
I love speaking with my students in Texas, finding out how they heard about Florida Southern College, and seeing how eager they are to explore a community outside of their home state. As far as my students from Florida, I love how excited they become at the opportunity to drive a few hours to tour and visit the campus with their families and integrate themselves within the FSC community.
What do you like most about being involved with FSC’s
recruitment efforts?
I enjoy working with students on their college search and application
process. As a graduate, I am glad my own Florida Southern background can help families and students see why
FSC is the perfect fit.
What’s your favorite spot on Florida Southern’s campus?
I love Tutu’s Cyber Café. This
is a hot spot on campus because so much is available. I can always count on Starbucks’ drinks to give my day a
boost! Apart from the great lunch options, I can relax by the Water Dome or walk into Roux Library to get a
book or rent a movie.
What’s the best tradition or campus event at Florida Southern?
My favorite tradition
is the Fairwell Festival. Each year it centers on a different theme (such as Arabian Nights or the 90s) and
it’s a great opportunity to have one last night of fun riding rides, eating, and dancing with family and
friends before the semester comes to an end.
Describe a perfect Saturday in Lakeland.
A perfect Saturday in Lakeland would start by
going to have breakfast at Mimi’s Café in the Lakeside Village and then venturing to Books A Million to spend
time reading a new book or magazine. For lunch, it’s great to head to downtown Lakeland and eat at any of the
wonderful restaurants centered by Munn Park and then take time to shop around the wonderful antique stores. At
night, I would go to any one of the different movie theatres in Lakeland—such as the Silver Moon Drive-In—and
watch a double feature to top off the perfect Saturday.

Any favorite restaurants or hangouts in Lakeland?
Fish City Grill—only a 10-minute drive
from campus. They have the best fish & chips and always bring new items to the menu depending on the season. I
encourage anyone who loves seafood to check it out!
Any hobbies or outside interests?
Reading is my main hobby; I always love a good book! I
also enjoy shopping, watching movies, and scrapbooking.
What’s something that would surprise people about you? I am a massive gamer! I basically own every gaming console out there today.
Other unusual, interesting, noteworthy, or peculiar facts or trivia about you?
I’m a
massive Harry Potter fan. I have not only gone to the theme park in Orlando over 60 times, but I was
also able to get on the red carpet for the last Harry Potter movie premiere in New York City and meet
the cast. Also, I know Michael Jackson’s top dance numbers because I was in a tribute show a couple of years
back!
