Job Title: Greenhouse Worker

Duties: Watering, fertilizing, pruning and potting of greenhouse plants. Scouting of pests on citrus, greenhouse plants and the horticulture department’s landscape areas. To assist horticulture professors with labs, research projects and other duties when required. Weeding and cleaning of greenhouse and landscape beds. Checking and maintaining irrigation systems, as well as some greenhouse controls.
Qualifications: Preferred Horticulture or Citrus student. Student must have knowledge of basic plant needs or willingness to learn. May be required to work some weekends. Must be able to work in hot, wet and extreme environments. May be required to lift heavy objects occasionally.
Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Duties: Cleaning labs, stocking labs,maintain 2 stockrooms, re-shelving chemicals, assisting professors when necessary,additional duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.
Qualifications: Science major or have a strong background in science from high school. Knowledge of laboratory environment as well as glassware and equipment.

Duties: Assist Department Chair in the Physical Education Department; Assist Department Chair with Dyslexia Research, Assist Department Chair with Inventory at the Robert’s Academy; Assist Department Chair with Speaker Series Research; Check in with Administrative Assistant for daily duties; Assist faculty with equipment set-up; Answer department phone when Administrative Assistant is not present in a courteous manner and take messages; Assist Administrative Assistant with inventory of PE offices, classrooms and lab; Chalk and Wire Updates, Web site updates; Filing catalogs and journals; Copying, scanning, printing documents for faculty and staff; Keeping copier and printers loaded with paper and toner; Empty shredder and bag; Pick up, drop off, and sort mail; Help to keep department organized and clean (Reception Area, File Room, Copy Room, Conference Room, Classrooms and Lab); Pick up and deliver items for faculty and staff as assigned; Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or Department Chair.
Qualifications: Must be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute. Under the direction of the Administrative Assistant, work to assist the Department Chair and full-time faculty and staff in the Physical Education Department. Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word; Excel; Outlook; PowerPoint); SPSS Software will be taught for research data.
