An entrepreneur from an early age, former Mocs golfer David Glod
began his first business venture as a golf ball salesman. The
10-year-old, who grew up on a golf course, hunted the grounds
for stray balls and sold them to the players. Later he took a
job at a local course so that he could play for free. But the
inner workings of a golf club attracted him more than playing
the game. What began as a garage repair shop for golf equipment
became Tour Edge, founded in 1986 and now a top-20 golf club
design and manufacturing company.“I felt I received a very
good education at FSC. I remember the great weather, the nice
small classes and the great professors. It was a nice family
atmosphere. We all received great direction and enthusiasm from
the profs. They all pushed the entrepreneurial career as a great
and challenging path to take. I took it.”
