humorous circumstances. As the founder and president of Avanti
Press, Rick has eighty employees working out of the home office
in Detroit and a creative office in New York City. Over 10,000
retailers in the U.S. and Canada carry Avanti cards, and the
line is popular internationally as well, with distribution
reaching 20 countries around the world.
Florida Southern shared in the making of the future businessman.
Whether he learned from sports, academics, or Greek life,
Ruffner remembers priceless lessons from coaches, professors and
Theta Chi (his fraternity).
The first person I met at FSC was George Bongiorno 79,
who ended up being my roommate for three years. I appreciate
more than ever the friends I still have from FSC because you
realize how rare it is to have had so many really good guys in
one place.
