Joe K. and Alberta Blanton Nursing Building

Florida Southern College President Dr. Anne Kerr announced on Sept. 8, 2006 a $2.5 million gift from Lakeland resident and philanthropist Alberta Blanton. The gift will enable the College to build the Joe K. and Alberta Blanton Nursing Building, a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance nursing education while allowing the College to address the critical nursing shortage in the county, state and nation. Groundbreaking for the new building took place on Feb. 22, 2008.
