Lea Dodge, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC
Assistant Professor of Nursing FNP Program Coordinator
“The cornerstone of my teaching philosophy is to assist students to become actively engaged leaners. Students must be provided with an open, secure environment for learning to thrive and excel to their potential. I accommodate different learning styles by utilizing a variety of teaching strategies in the classroom and clinical settings. My goal is to assist students in the development of critical thinking skills to become competent, caring nurses and leaders in the nursing community.”
I am originally from Massachusetts but spent the last 13 years living in New Hampshire. I recently relocated to Florida in July of 2016. I am a certified Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior to my recent relocation from New Hampshire, I served as the Coordinator of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program and Lecturer in the DNP and FNP programs at University of Massachusetts, Lowell. I also practiced part-time as a FNP in a busy family practice in New Hampshire working both in primary and urgent care.
I am been in the nursing profession for over 20 years. My clinical experience includes roles in dialysis, medical/surgical nursing, employee health, risk and quality management, wound care, and infection control. I have taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels and served as a preceptor for FNP students. I have extensive experience in online education and innovative teaching methods.
