Adjunct Faculty
Adjunct Faculty Handbook
FSC continually strives to provide students with the most highly qualified faculty member available to teach in a specific discipline. The college will give hiring preference to adjunct faculty that possess a terminal degree (from a regionally accredited institution) in the disciple in which they desire to teach.  Otherwise these are the minimum requirements for teaching undergraduate credit offerings at Florida Southern College.

  1. Must possess a Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  2. Must possess 18 graduate hours of course work in the disciple or area in which the adjunct faculty member desires to teach. For example, if an adjunct wants to teach mathematics the prospective adjuncts graduate  transcripts must reflect a minimum of 18 credit hours (6 courses) in courses with a MAT prefix or similar prefix that designates advance work in mathematics. As an additional example consider an adjunct who wants to teach in our accounting program. The adjunct must possess a Master's Degree and have 18 graduate hours or 6 classes in Accounting.
  3. 3 years professional work experience required.
