Senior studio art exhibition on display at Melvin Art Gallery

LAKELAND, Fla. (March 29, 2006) — Florida Southern College’s Department of Art and Art History presents its Senior Thesis Exhibition for studio art majors March 31 through April 10 in the Melvin Art Gallery on campus.  The exhibit opens with a reception March 31 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Downing Barnitz and Beth Ford, former FSC professors of art, will jury the show. The John R. Reuter Art Awards will be presented at the opening night reception at 8 p.m.  The late John Reuter, a former English professor at the college, established these awards for graduating studio art students. 

The Melvin Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during intermissions of most performances of the FSC Fine Arts Series.  For more information please contact the gallery at (863) 680-4223.
