Students create marketing agency for Michael Holley Chevrolet

LAKELAND, Fla. (Nov. 9, 2006) — Eleven Florida Southern College marketing students are participating with students from nine other southeastern universities and colleges in an industry-education course sponsored by Chevrolet. The Chevrolet Marketing Internship Program gives students the opportunity to create a fully functioning marketing agency for a prominent client.

The student-developed agency has begun to research, implement and evaluate an integrated marketing campaign for Michael Holley Chevrolet, promoting the dealer’s 2007 vehicles to their target market, fellow college peers. After presenting their concept to executives from Chevrolet, the students began to execute their campaign as well as track and analyze its results.  The program culminates in a formal, agency-style presentation that gives students the opportunity to develop public speaking and presentation skills, and build self-confidence.

The students have planned several marketing events on campus. The grand finale “Vegas” night from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight, Nov. 9, offers free food and drinks, games, music and prizes, including a trip for two to the Caribbean. The events take place at the Bandshell across from the tennis courts.
