FSC professor John Santosuosso publishes book on Canada

LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2007) – Dr. John Santosuosso, political science professor at Florida Southern College, has written “Canada: An Introduction for Americans,” released by PublishAmerica. Santosuosso, who considers Canada his “second home,” has had a long-standing interest in the country and has journeyed to every Canadian province.

According to Santosuosso Canada is the United States’ largest supplier of imported oil. “Canada is also the only major supplier that is politically stable. It is America’s largest trading partner - larger than Japan, China, or any country in the European Union. Canada is a good friend, but it is not ‘just like us,’ and there is far more there than ‘moose and Mounties.’”

“Canada: An Introduction for Americans” presents the story of Canada’s birth and growth, Santosuosso said, “the contributions of the English, French, First Nations, and Inuit, and the distinctly Canadian ways of doing politics and building their economy, along with side trips that reveal the country’s diversity and even uncover some places many Canadians have not yet discovered.”

“Canada: An Introduction for Americans” is available online at publishamerica.com, amazon.com, and other booksellers. It will also be sold at the FSC bookstore on campus.
