Florida Southern ROTC to hold spring commissioning ceremony

LAKELAND, Fla. (April 25, 2007) — The Florida Southern College Army ROTC Moccasin Battalion will conduct its spring commissioning ceremony on April 27, at 10 a.m. in the Annie Pfeiffer Chapel on campus. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Eleanor Searle Drawing Room. The event is free and open to the public.

Three Cadets in the ROTC program will be commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the United States Army. Robert L. Fryer, Jr., ’70, Chairman of the Florida Southern College Board of Trustees and former Moccasin Battalion ROTC Cadet, will be the guest speaker.

The Florida Southern College ROTC program has a long record of excellence and has graduated leaders who have served the Army in leadership roles at the highest levels. For the past two years, the Moccasin Battalion earned the distinction of being recognized as one of the top 15 percent of all ROTC programs in the nation.
