Florida Southern College marketing management students win scholastic achievement award

LAKELAND, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2007) — Florida Southern College marketing management students have won the Scholastic Achievement Award (SAA) in the Chevrolet Marketing Internship Program competition for the Fall 2007 semester, awarded by EdVenture Partners and Chevrolet. The marketing team will travel to Atlanta this week for the next level of competition.

The students participated in an internship with Chevrolet during which they created a working marketing agency to research, develop, implement and evaluate a campaign to promote awareness of and interest in Chevrolet vehicles. FSC was one of seven schools in the southeast region participating in the program.

"EdVenture Partners and Chevrolet appreciate all of the hard work Florida Southern students put into making this semester's campaign a success," said Travis Rothman of EdVentures. "The students met and exceeded each of the objectives provided by Chevrolet."

The Chevrolet Marketing Internship Program is designed to bridge the gap between industry and education, providing students with valuable, hands-on experience.  The program is coordinated by EdVenture Partners, an education-marketing agency that designs unique industry-education partnerships at campuses around the United States.  EdVenture Partners, in conjunction with Chevrolet, provides each student agency with the resources and guidance necessary to design and implement their marketing agency.
