Florida Southern College marketing management students to give presentations to General Motors executives
LAKELAND, Fla. (Jan. 11, 2008) — Florida Southern College marketing management students will give a presentation to General Motors executives on Jan. 17 at Michael Holley Chevrolet in Lakeland. The presentation will be held in the Holley Chevrolet community room from 11 a.m. to12 p.m., with a lunch and question-and-answer session to follow. The presentation was developed during the students’ participation in the Chevrolet Marketing Internship Program as part of their marketing management course during the fall 2007 term. They won a regional competition among the seven colleges taking part in the program and went on to present at the next level of competition in Atlanta last month. As a result of their exceptional performance in that competition, they are repeating the presentation for the GM executives. The students will also address some of the issues brought up in the Atlanta question-and-answer session. “In the seven years that GM has done this competition they have never followed up like this with a school, so I think it is safe to say that they are very impressed with our students,” said Dr. David Grossman, FSC assistant professor of international business and marketing.
