Florida Southern College to hold Locks of Love event
Donated hair is made into wigs for needy children LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 11, 2008) — Florida Southern College will host its second Locks of Love event of the school year on Tuesday, Feb. 19. “Locks of Love 146” takes place at 6 p.m. in the Joseph Reynolds Hall Lobby on the FSC campus. Attendees may bid to cut off volunteers’ hair, which cut length must measure at least 7 inches. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Love 146, an organization committed to preventing human enslavement and sexual exploitation around the globe. Donated hair will be shaped and styled by professional hair stylists from the Lakeland area and sent to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The college’s first Locks of Love event raised over $1,000.00, donated to Invisible Children, and twenty feet of hair for Locks of Love. For more information, please contact Keri E.
