FSC Theatre Department presents "The Foreigner"
FSC's Theatre Arts Department opens the 2008-2009 season of the Festival of Fine Arts with “The Foreigner.” For more information, please call the Buckner Theatre box office at 863-680-4296. (Sept. 11, 2008) — Florida Southern College’s Theatre Arts Department begins its 2008-2009 season with “The Foreigner,” by Larry Shue, in the Loca Lee Buckner Theatre on the college campus as part of FSC’s Festival of Fine Arts. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 25-27 and Oct. 2-4; matinees start at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 28 and Oct. 5. Mary T. Albright directs the play. Larry Shue’s play premiered in 1983. The southern comedy is about Charlie, a shy Englishman, who visits a fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Charlie pretends not to be able to understand English to avoid the attentions of the other guests and he soon hears of scandals amongst them. Tickets are $15. FSC students are admitted free.
