FSC Singers Take Top Honors at Competition

Florida Southern College music students hit the high notes at the Tampa Bay National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Competition on February 21.

Florida Southern College was the host of this regional competition, where more than 100 college and high school singers competed.

The following FSC students were prize winners. They are students of Diane Stahl and John Thomasson:

  • Freshmen Men: Kenji Bolden, first place; Joshua Mazur, second place
  • Freshmen Women: Barbara Martinez, first place
  • Freshmen/Sophomore Musical Theatre, Women: Mae Puttre, first place
  • Junior Men: Scott Tripp, first place
  • Junior Women: Kimberly Milton, first place
  • Senior Men: Mathew Habib, second place
  • Senior Women: Katherine Smith, third place
  • Junior/Senior Musical Theatre, Women: Katherine Smith, third place

In addition, high school senior Christopher Kline, who will enter FSC as a freshman in the fall, took first place in the Junior-Senior High School Men category and was named “Most Promising Male Student.”
