Deputy Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, to Pay Tribute to Veterans at FSC's Homecoming

LAKELAND, Fla. (March 5, 2009) — Lt. Gen. Francis "Frank" H. Kearney III, deputy commander of the United States Special Operations Command, will deliver the keynote address at Florida Southern Colleges "Tribute to Military Veterans," part of the College's Homecoming festivities, on March 14. The event, which begins at 10 a.m. on Barnett Field, is free and open to the public.

The U.S. Special Operations Command organizes, equips, and trains our nation's Special Operations Forces for worldwide employment. Kearney is a 1976 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and has participated in conflicts in Grenada, Panama, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

The "Tribute to Military Veterans" also will feature retired Lt. Gen. John "Mark" Curran, vice president of Huntsville, Ala., operations for L-3 Communications, and a 1974 graduate of Florida Southern, as well as the College's ROTC and alumni who are veterans.
