FSC Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble Perform Classical Selections

LAKELAND, Fla. (March 26, 2009) — Florida Southern College presents the FSC Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble, performing April 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Branscomb Auditorium on the FSC campus.

Dr. Jo Jossim conducts these two outstanding ensembles as they explore the tonal combinations and unique timbres of winds, brass, and percussion. Selections from classical wind literature include "Second Suite in F" and "Mars" from "The Planets" by Gustav Holst, "March" from the "Symphonic Metamorphosis" by Paul Hindemith, "assacaglia for Symphonic Wind Band" by Tim Jackson, and "Equus" by Eric Whitacre.

Tickets are $15. FSC students are admitted free of charge; non-FSC students are admitted at half price. For ticket information, contact the Branscomb Auditorium box office at (863) 680-4296.
