FSC Chapter of SAE Hosts 'Kids College Day' Proceeds to go to All Children's Hospital
LAKELAND, Fla. (Oct. 19, 2009) — The Florida Gamma Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Florida Southern College will hold a carnival for Lakeland-area children with health issues. "Kids College Day" takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at Callahan Field on the FSC campus. Florida Gamma is inviting children from the Lakeland area who have dealt with health issues and are either fully recovered or on their way to being healthy. The fraternity, along with other FSC groups, including four athletic teams, and local police and fire department representatives, will set up booths for various activities. Proceeds from donations and drawings will go to All Childrens Hospital. Lead organizer Tanner Ehrnsberger, a senior business administration major from Port Charlotte, Fla., initiated the event for personal reasons. "My brother was treated for cancer when he was 17, and this is my way of giving back to those who helped him make it through. Id like to let the kids and parents know that they aren't the only ones who've gone through something like this and there are plenty of people out there who are willing to help out." |
