Most-Recorded, Grammy-Nominated Mezzo Soprano Jennifer Larmore to Perform at Florida Southern

LAKELAND, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2010) -- Florida Southern College and the Festival of Fine Arts welcome American mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore on Feb. 16. The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Branscomb Memorial Auditorium on the Florida Southern campus.

Widely regarded for excelling in the coloratura roles of the Baroque and bel canto, Larmore recently has added romantic and contemporary pieces to her repertoire. The most-recorded mezzo of all time with more than 70 CDs to her credit, she has earned seven Grammy nominations. Larmore has performed lead roles in Europes major opera houses and is a regular attraction at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. A pre-concert lecture will begin at 6:45 p.m. in the Anne MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall.
