LAKELAND, Fla. (May 20, 2010) A team of Florida Southern College Communication students received special recognition for their entry in the annual Yellow Pages Association Advertising Challenge.

Taylor Alter, a junior, Mallory Moore, a junior, and Colin Kish, a sophomore, placed in the Top 25 nationally out of more than 1,000 submissions in the advertising contest. More than 1,700 college students competed.

The teams were asked to design two Yellow Pages print ads and one Internet Yellow Pages ad for a fictional local business, Haven Bay Veterinary Hospital, and were given guidelines and information that the "client" wanted included in the ads.

The FSC team worked under the supervision of Communication professor Dr. Alex Ortiz, their faculty adviser.
