FSC's Roberts Academy to Hold Open House

LAKELAND, Fla. (Apr. 18, 2011) -- The Roberts Academy at Florida Southern College will have an open house for parents interested in learning more about the school at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Monday, May 23, at The Roberts Academy, 1140 McDonald St.

The Roberts Academy, which opened in August, is Florida's only school for talented children with dyslexia. The Academy offers a full-day program offering reading, math, science, and other elementary school subjects. Teachers are trained in the Orton-Gillingham Method of reading instruction. The Academy also provides support and training programs for parents and families, including a resource library. Counseling and occupational therapy are available.

Another open house is planned for June 27.
