Immigration is the Subject of the Next Legally Speaking Lunch & Lecture Program at Florida Southern College
LAKELAND (Jan. 20, 2012) – The critical subject of immigration will be discussed at the next Legally Speaking lunch and lecture program at Florida Southern College. Winter Haven attorney A. Renee Pobjecky, secretary of the Central Florida chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a partner in the law firm Pobjecky & Pobjecky LLP, will give the lecture, “Immigration 101: Key General Concepts and Terms.” The program will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Jan. 27 in the Thrift Alumni Center on the FSC campus. The cost is $20 per person, which includes lunch, lecture and valet parking. Corporate table sponsorships are available, and reservations are required by Jan. 25. “Immigration law is such an important topic that affects so many in our community,” said Dr. Cindy Hardin, professor of business administration and Legally Speaking lecture series coordinator at Florida Southern College. “We hope this lecture gives those interested an opportunity to learn more about the issues and engage in discussion. In addition to learning about the basics of immigration, Ms. Pobjecky will also address business visas, general tax tips, and how Florida immigration law compares to immigration laws in other states.” The Legally Speaking lecture series is sponsored by the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity at FSC and is intended to bring together members of the legal community, professionals, students and the public for meaningful discussions about timely legal issues facing society. Future lecture dates have been announced for February 24th and March 23rd. For more information on the Legally Speaking series or to RSVP for the lecture with A.
