Symphony
band
performs at Florida Southern
LAKELAND, Fla.
(March 26, 2002) - Florida Southern College presents the FSC symphony
band, performing April 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Branscomb Auditorium.
Conductor Jo
Jossim leads the band as it performs several contrasting pieces,
including Illiyrian Dances, by Alfred Reed; Molly on the Shore,
by Percy Grainger, which features a clarinet soloist and woodwind
section; Symphony No. 2, by John Barnes Chance; Elsa's Procession
to the Cathedral by Richard Wagner. The Wind Ensemble will also
be performing Postcard, by Frank Ticheli; Cartoon, by Paul Hart;
Second Suite in F, by Gustav Holst; Yiddish Dances, by Adam Gorb;
and The Alcotts, by Charles Ives.
Tickets are
$12. FSC students are admitted free of charge; non-FSC students
are admitted at half price. For ticket information, contact the
