Florida Southern
hires new
director of church relations
LAKELAND, Fla. (July 24,
2003) - Florida Southern College has hired Mike Crawford as its
new director of church relations. Crawford will act as a liaison
between FSC and the United Methodist Church (UMC), visiting prospective
students and speaking at area churches to foster and strengthen
the college's long-standing relationship with UMC.
Crawford has spent 18
years in the United Methodist Church in Youth and Young Adult Ministries.
He has served in both large and small churches across the conference,
leading numerous workshops and seminars about youth/young adult
issues. He served at Killearn UMC, Tallahassee; St. Luke's UMC,
Orlando; and most recently First UMC, Oviedo.
"With his wealth of experience
and connections in the Florida Conference, Mike will be a wonderful
asset to Florida Southern," said the Rev. Timothy S. Wright, FSC
chaplain. "I am excited not only about what he will bring to the
college, but also about the role he will play in the life of the
church."
