executive appointed to
Florida Southern board of trustees
LAKELAND, Fla. (June 11,
2003) - George W. Rogers, a Lakeland business executive, was appointed
to Florida Southern College's board of trustees in May at the Florida
United Methodist Annual Conference in Lakeland. Rogers will serve
on the board for a three-year term.
Rogers is regional vice president for Government Employees Insurance
Company (GEICO) and serves as the general manager for the company's
Lakeland regional office. He has served on the board of directors
of GEICO and GEICO Indemnity Company and has been a member of GEICO's
staff since 1969. Rogers currently serves on the Florida Southern
College President's Council, the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, United
Way of Central Florida, and VISTE. He graduated cum laude with a
degree in business from the University of Maryland in 1992.
