FSC students selected
for
"Who's Who Among Students in
American Universities and Colleges"
LAKELAND, Fla. (Jan. 2,
2003) - The 2003 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American
Universities and Colleges" will include the names of 22 students
from Florida Southern College who have been selected as national
outstanding campus leaders.
Campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory
have selected these students based on their academic achievement,
service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities,
and potential for continued success.
"Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges"
rewards and recognizes individual academic excellence on a national
level. Once selected, a student is a lifetime member. Outstanding
students have been honored in the annual directory since it was
first published in 1934.
Students named this year from Florida Southern College are as follows:
Leigh Ann Alumbaugh, a senior, is majoring in elementary
education. She is the daughter of Brent and Kathy Alumbaugh of Auburndale,
Fla.
Natalie Marie Carrozza, a 2002 biology graduate, is the daughter
of Peter Carrozza of Mt. Dora, Fla., and Sherie Carrozza of Tavares,
Fla.
Julie Jackson Christian, a junior, is majoring in elementary
education. She is the daughter of Tom and Julia Christian of Winter
Haven, Fla.
Nancy H. Cobb is a senior majoring in political science.
She resides in Mulberry, Fla.
Amanda Michelle Curry is a senior majoring in communication.
She is the daughter of Jay and Diane Curry of Lakeland, Fla.
Kelly Leigh Diskin, a senior, is a psychology major. She
is the daughter of James Diskin of Jacksonville, Fla. and Dawn Ellis
of Naples, Fla.
Holly Kay Hall is a 2002 graduate majoring in elementary
education. She is the daughter of Carson and Ronda Hall of Auburndale,
Fla.
Sarah Kimberly Hardwick is a senior majoring in economics.
She is the daughter of Jon and Nancy Hardwick of Clifton, Va.
Christine Theresa Higbie, a senior, is majoring in biology.
She is the daughter of Steven Higbie and Karen Higbie of West Islip,
N.Y.
Monica Kendra Hughes is a senior majoring in elementary education.
She is the daughter of John Hughes and Cindy Hughes-Davis of Gainesville,
Fla.
Ruth Ann Lee, a senior, is majoring in elementary education.
She is the daughter of Michael and Mary Lee of Gainesville, Fla.
Dalitso Nyalani is a 2002 biology graduate. She is the daughter
of Dominic and Dorothy Nyalani of Malawi, Africa.
Laura O'Bryant McCaulley, a 2002 English graduate, is the
daughter of Kenneth and Sandra O'Bryant of Largo, Fla.
Anna Ogorelkova
is a senior majoring in business administration. She is the daughter
of Andrey Ogorelkova and Elizaveta Ogorelkova of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Alex Okounev, a senior, is majoring in business administration.
He is the son of Igor and Tatiana Okounev of Moscow, Russia.
Heidi Kay Peterson is a senior majoring in biology. She is
the daughter of William and Arlette Peterson of West Boylston, Mass.
Melissa Sue Piloto is a senior majoring in elementary education.
She is the daughter of Larry and Debra Piloto of Rotonda West, Fla.
Adam Lester Spafford, a senior majoring in business marketing
and financial management, is the son of Sidney and Sheila Spafford
of Kissimmee, Fla.
Laura M. Tomashek is a senior majoring in English. She resides
with her husband, Jason Tomashek, in Clermont, Fla.
Angela Paulette Toth,
a 2002 psychology and sociology graduate, resides in Lakeland, Fla.,
Avonel Elizabeth Waller is a senior majoring in music/performance
and religion. She is the daughter of Richard and Avonel Waller of
Lakeland, Fla.
Danielle Nicole Whaley is a senior English major. She is
the daughter of Julie Williams of Lakeland, Fla.
