FSC student receives
Sigma Delta Pi Scholarship
LAKELAND, Fla. (April
14, 2004) - FSC senior Brittany Melson has been awarded a Sigma
Delta Pi scholarship to study in Quito, Ecuador. The English major
and Spanish minor begins her studies in August after completing
an internship with the National Endowment for the Humanities in
Washington, D.C.
Melson will study at the Academia Latinoamericana de Espaņol in
Quito. The scholarship award will cover the cost of tuition, room
and two meals per day for a four-week course of study. Sigma Delta
Pi will provide a stipend which may be used toward travel to Ecuador.
Melson is the daughter of William and Susan Melson of Lakeland,
Fla.
