Senior studio art
exhibition
on display at Melvin Art Gallery
LAKELAND, Fla. (April
6, 2004) - Florida Southern College's Department of Art and Art
History presents its Senior Studio Art Show in the Melvin Art Gallery
beginning April 16 and running through April 26. An opening night
reception begins at 7 p.m.
William Meek, an FSC alumnus and owner of the Harmon-Meek Gallery
of Naples, Fla., will jury this show on opening night. Department
chair William Otremsky will give a brief talk and present the recipients
of the John R. Reuter Art Awards. John Reuter, a former English
professor at the college, has provided for $1,000 in annual awards
for graduating studio art students. The awards will be announced
at 8 p.m.
The Melvin Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and
during intermissions of most performances of the FSC Fine Arts Series.
Admission is free.
