FSC theater troupe
performs
"Steel Magnolias"
LAKELAND, Fla. (March
24, 2004) - Florida Southern's theater department performs "Steel
Magnolias" in the Loca Lee Buckner Theater on campus. Performances
begin at 7:30 p.m. April 8-10 and April 15-17; matinees start at
2:30 p.m. April 11 and 18. Paul Bawek, theatre arts department professor,
directs the play.
The 1987 Off-Broadway hit by Robert Harling is a touching story
of close-knit Southern women in a small-town beauty salon. These
women are the steel magnolias of the title: soft Southern belles
on the outside but strong on the inside - a quality they will need
through the course of the story.
Tickets are $15. FSC students are admitted free. Non-FSC students
pay half price. For ticket information, please contact the Branscomb
Auditorium box office at (863) 680-4296.
