interns at University of Miami
LAKELAND, Fla. (Aug. 25,
2003) - Florida Southern College student Laura Toops interned at
the University of Miami this summer, where she studied the various
aspects of phytoplankton ecology and the spawning biology of bill
fish.
This is the second internship awarded to Toops, a senior biology
major. Two years ago, she conducted field and lab productivity studies
at the College of William and Mary Marine Lab in Virginia. Toops
plans to attend graduate school next fall. She is the daughter of
FSC education professor Timothy Toops and his wife, Constance, of
Sarasota, Fla.,
