Florida Southern College presents
exhibition of artist Allen Bentley
LAKELAND, Fla. (Sept. 24, 2004) - Florida Southern College will present the paintings of artist Allen Bentley in the Melvin Art Gallery beginning Oct. 8 and running through Nov. 8. Bentley will discuss his work during the opening reception to be held Oct. 8 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Bentley, a recent M.F.A. graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, explores the figure in motion in nearly life-sized oil paintings in which he uses bold mark-making to describe figures with flowing anatomical accuracy. This is his first exhibition in Florida.
The Melvin Art Gallery is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and during intermissions of most performances of the FSC Fine Arts Series.
