First-Year Advice:
Is your student looking for a few tips to help them improve academically? If so, I hope they will attend our next Academic Improvement Session on Wednesday, March 12 at 10:40 a.m. in Rogers 119. We will present 30 Tips in 30 Minutes, which is a quick reminder of some of the essential skills in note taking, time management, and more. ItÕs a great way to energize academic efforts for the second half of the semester.
Second-Year Insight:
Students should have met for
group advising on Tuesday. At this meeting each student set up a time to meet
individually with his or her advisor to select classes for the fall. Your
student will not be able to register for fall classes until meeting
individually with his/her advisor.
Registration online for
second year students (students with 30 more earned hours) will be on Monday,
March 25 beginning at 8pm.
From the FSC Career Center:
If you have a graduating senior and they have not visited the Career Center, encourage them to
do it soon! Time is of the essence as they prepare for the next step in life.
Juniors should have received
an invitation to our upcoming Rising Senior Celebration Dinner. This event targets our JUNIORS to get
them to start thinking about planning for next year. It is a free sit down
dinner hosted by our office and employers in many different fields. Students
will learn about dining etiquette
and how to dress for success!
Students must RSVP for this event.
From the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center:

Final Thoughts – Spring
has sprung, or so the line goes. The weather is beautiful. After this weekend,
there will be an extra hour of daylight. Encourage your student to enjoy the
many outstanding outdoor vistas available to him/her on the FSC campus. Our
gardens are outdoor living rooms, great for grabbing a blanket and getting in
some studying.
All the best – Shari
