From the FSC Counseling Center:

Merry and Bright.  Wait a minute!  LetÕs slow down.  I know weÕve been seeing Christmas decorations in the stores since Labor Day but letÕs just slow down and take a few deep breaths.  Before the mad dash into finals, end-of-term parties and celebrations, and Christmas and New YearÕs festivities, letÕs stop and enjoy Thanksgiving and remember the reasons weÕre thankful.  Those reasons always come down to the special people in our lives, donÕt they?  The young may not yet realize it but ÒstuffÓ comes and goes.  Possessions get used up or damaged or lost and, once theyÕre gone, we hardly remember them.  But the important people, those whoÕve touched our lives in important ways, are in our hearts forever.  I hope each FSC family, yours and mine, will take time this Thanksgiving holiday to remember the special people who have enriched our lives—dear friends, kind neighbors, caring teachers, generous co-workers, and all the many others who have given us of their time, their efforts, and their love.  IÕm thankful for you and for your sons and daughters, the students youÕve entrusted to us.  I wish you and yours a warm and happy Thanksgiving shared with those you love.  (And then, when thatÕs done, weÕll have that mad dash.)
