The best part about being a student at Florida Southern is the connection made between both the faculty and the community. On campus I know that if I need anything, I can go to my professors and anytime I’m walking around Lakeland, I’m proud to say that I’m a student at Florida Southern because of the high standing it has in the community.

The best thing about FSC is the ability to get involved. It was so easy to join so many clubs and organizations. Everyone was so welcoming and supportive. By my second semester, I held multiple exec positions.

I chose Florida Southern because I had an amazing Admissions Counselor who invested a lot of time in me. I always wanted to go to a small school with real world opportunities. The good weather was definitely a unique selling point.

As cheesy as it sounds the best thing about being a student at Florida Southern is that I’m not just a number. My professors know my name and care about my goals. If I ever have a problem, I know I’m just a phone call or an office visit away from the help I need.

You would be hard-pressed to find another professor who cares about her students and loves Florida Southern as much as she does.

My favorite professors are Dr. Nancy Morvillo, Biology and Dr. Ronald Pepino, Chemistry and Physics. They are very different professors, but are a little bit crazy in their own right. Dr. Morvillo is always bright and sunny and positive even for the 8:00 am class. Dr. Pepino is passionate, enigmatic, and hilarious, making his love for Physics contagious.

The best thing about Florida Southern, in my opinion, is the sense of community. It is something that bigger schools simply can’t offer! I love being able to say hello to five students and the Dean of Students and know them all on the same level.
