How the 4+1 Works

The Same MBA, Started Early

Fast-track your future with FSC’s top-ranked Master of Business Administration.

A Master of Business Administration builds the leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills to rise in your field, across every function of a business and into the roles where strategy gets set.

The 4+1 path leads to the same AACSB-accredited, 33-hour Master of Business Administration as our traditional degree program, with the same faculty and the same career outcomes. As a qualified FSC undergraduate, you begin graduate coursework in your senior year, so the master's takes about one additional year rather than two.

Tailor it to your goals. The MBA offers seven concentrations, so you can align the degree with the career you're building:

Business Analytics · CPA Licensure · Finance · Healthcare Management · Industrial-Organizational Psychology · Supply Chain Management · Sport Management

The Early Credits

As a 4+1 student, you may complete up to 9 credit hours of MBA electives (BUS prefix) during your senior year, billed at the undergraduate rate and counting toward both degrees.

The Early Credits

4+1 Admission Requirements

Open to all majors. Apply during your junior year. You'll need:

  • At least 93 completed undergraduate credit hours by the start of the program
  • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • A valid GRE or GMAT score, or a qualifying waiver (FSC students with a 3.25+ GPA may qualify)
  • A current resume, one recommendation, and a personal statement (no more than 2,000 words)
  • Approval from the MBA Program Director

How 4+1 Billing Works

Graduate courses taken before your bachelor's is awarded are billed at the undergraduate rate (fall and spring at the full-time rate, summer at the summer rate). Once your bachelor's is awarded, remaining MBA coursework is billed at the MBA per-credit-hour rate.

A Proven Path to Career Success

FSC's MBA graduates go on to work at companies like Amazon, Publix, Walt Disney, and Lockheed Martin. The degree is AACSB-accredited, a mark of excellence held by only 6% of business schools worldwide, and has been ranked among the best MBA programs by The Princeton Review and Fortune.

"My teaching philosophy is based on a belief that knowledge gained through active and engaged learning will prepare students to function as highly skilled and competent managers across a scope of functions and industries. I encourage students to tackle problems creatively, which helps them learn to think outside conventional boundaries and to seek the deeper meaning of concepts. These skills have been found to be important for business innovation as well as managerial success."
