How the 4+1 Works

The Same MSA, Started Early

A Master of Science in Analytics builds advanced skills in data analysis, statistical methods, and machine learning, preparing you to work with large, complex datasets and turn them into decisions that organizations act on.

The 4+1 path leads to the same 30-hour, STEM-designated Master of Science in Analytics as our traditional degree program. As a qualified FSC undergraduate, you begin graduate coursework in your senior year, so the master's takes about one additional year rather than two.

The Early Credits

As a 4+1 student you may complete up to 9 credit hours of graduate coursework during your senior year, billed at the undergraduate rate and counting toward both degrees.

The Early Credits

4+1 Admission Requirements

Open to all majors. Apply during your junior year. You'll need:

  • At least 93 completed undergraduate credit hours by the start of the program
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA
  • A current resume
  • Approval from the MSA Program Director

How 4+1 Billing Works

Graduate courses taken before your bachelor's is awarded are billed at the undergraduate rate (fall and spring at the full-time rate, summer at the summer rate). Once your bachelor's is awarded, remaining MSA coursework is billed at the MSA per-credit-hour rate.

Meet the Faculty

The students best placed to tell you about the 4+1 are the ones who've done it.
