How to Ensure You Graduate in Four Years

Follow the Four-Year Plan
Stick to the four-year academic plan outlined by your department to stay on course with your academic progress and goals.

Complete Required Credit Hours
Aim to complete at least 31 credit hours per year (including summer) to maintain full-time status and stay on track.

Stay on Track
- Avoid dropping or failing classes without promptly making up the coursework within the four-year timeframe.
- Steer clear of academic or judicial issues that could delay your progress.
- Register for courses during the first three days of the registration period.

Commit to Your Major
Stay committed to the major you declare in your first year. (The guarantee does not apply to students pursuing additional majors or programs requiring external licensure.)
Programs not covered by the guarantee include: Accounting, Architecture, Art Education, Elementary Education, Music Education, Music Management, Nursing, Secondary Biology Education, Secondary English Education, Secondary Mathematics Education, and Secondary Social Sciences Education.

Graduate on Time or We Cover Your Tuition
If you follow all guidelines yet are unable to graduate in four years, FSC will cover your remaining tuition until you complete your degree. This coverage applies to tuition only, excluding room and board, and is adjusted for any state and federal aid. Additional conditions apply for summer courses and extra semesters.
