What We Do

The Office of Student Conduct facilitates the student accountability process, serves as the investigator for student Title IX issues, provides prevention, education, and awareness programs, and maintains compliance with federal and state mandates.

What We Expect of Students

The best part of Florida Southern is its community, and a strong community depends on everyone holding to the same high standards. When you enroll, you join that community and agree to uphold its values.

Our Cornerstone Values

A cornerstone is the first stone set in the foundation of a new building or, symbolically, a new endeavor. This stone sets the direction and orientation for everything that follows. At Florida Southern, our Cornerstone does the same — five core values that guide how we live, learn, and grow together. These values shape what it means to be a Florida Southern Scholar and guide how we connect and move forward as a community. Inspired by the Judeo-Christian principle on which the College was founded, A Florida Southern Scholar will:

  1. Tenet 1: Practice personal integrity and excellence of character in all areas, expecting the same from others.
  2. Tenet 2: Honor the dignity, value, and worth of all persons while learning from the differences in others' backgrounds, heritage, ideas, thoughts, and opinions.
  3. Tenet 3: Respect the rights and property of others.
  4. Tenet 4: Demonstrate concern for others and our collective need for conditions that promote personal growth and success.
  5. Tenet 5: Contribute to the rich heritage left by those who have preceded us and work to leave the College a better place for those who follow.

College Policies

Living these values also means following the College's policies, which are spelled out in the Student Code of Conduct as outlined in the Student Handbook, the Academic Catalog, and other College publications. These policies apply throughout your time here, from enrollment to graduation, and it is your responsibility to stay current with them as they are updated. When conduct falls short of these standards, on or off campus, in a way that harms the community or breaks College policy, it may lead to the student accountability process.

Recognize a Moc Who Lives the Cornerstone

Do you know a student, staff member, or faculty member who reflects these values in how they lead, serve, and treat others? The Cornerstone Award honors Florida Southern students whose everyday actions show integrity, respect, and care for our community. Nominate them to help us celebrate the people who make these values real on campus.

How We Can Help

For Students

Get support resolving a conflict with another student, take part in awareness programs on sexual misconduct prevention (including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking), or apply to serve on the Student Accountability Board and help uphold our community's standards.

For Student Organizations

Email us to request a presentation or training for your group, including risk management for fraternities and sororities, hazing prevention, and other sessions tailored to your organization's needs. We also lead educational programs on alcohol, drugs, and community responsibility that you can bring to your members or class.
