Get Started

Use the Exercise Room

New to the gym or just new to ours? Start with a free orientation. It's a brief tour of the facility and equipment, including how each piece works and how to adjust it. Orientations usually take about 30 minutes, and scheduling one ahead of time is highly recommended.

Faculty and staff can also schedule and orientation through Project:FIT on the worksite wellness page.

The Spaces and Equipment

The Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center gives you room to train however you like, across three connected spaces, each with its own setup.

Exercise equipment in the Tanner Hall gym

Tanner Hall

The Wellness Center’s main lobby is named in recognition of Dorotha C. Tanner’s devotion to and support of Florida Southern. It offers weight-training machines, functional fitness equipment and a large-screen TV.

Staff are always on hand to answer questions, help with equipment checkout and spot you during your lifts.

Personal Training

Our personal trainers offer fitness assessments, nutrition coaching, exercise prescription and personalized training, in single or combined services. Whatever your goals, a trainer guides you with one-on-one sessions and a program built for you, free of charge. Take advantage of all the services or just one. Small group training is also available.

Here's how it works:

  1. Fitness assessment. Your first session is a comprehensive assessment that details your strengths and highlights areas to develop. It measures cardiovascular and strength fitness, flexibility and more, and the results shape your individualized program.
  2. Your personalized workout. A second session walks you through the program your trainer designed.
  3. Periodic retests. Schedule retests (at least six weeks apart) to measure progress toward your goals. Using the same trainer for pre- and post-tests is recommended.

Nutrition Coaching

Looking to build healthier eating habits? Schedule a session with one of our certified nutrition coaches. Our team can review your current eating, explore how macronutrients support your goals and offer guidance for balanced eating, with practical tips for meal planning, grocery shopping and eating out.

Please note: Our nutrition coaches do not provide individualized meal plans or clinical nutrition services. For medical nutrition therapy or diagnosis-specific plans, we recommend consulting a licensed registered dietitian.
