FSC's accounting curriculum offers a comprehensive foundation in financial and managerial accounting, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, and business law. Courses combine technical depth with practical application, ensuring you graduate ready to perform, not just prepared on paper.

One-on-one mentorship from a dedicated accounting professor guides you through course selection, scheduling, internship opportunities, and career planning from your first year through graduation.

Professional Licensure: The BS degree satisfies the coursework required to sit for the CPA exam upon completion of 120 credit hours. Full CPA licensure requires 150 credit hours alongside passing the Uniform CPA Exam and one year of supervised experience. FSC's 4+1 Master of Accountancy is designed to satisfy those additional requirements in just two semesters. Students pursuing management accounting can also sit for the CMA exam after completing their junior year.

For students who want to go further, FSC's 4+1 Master of Accountancy provides an accelerated path to meeting the 150-hour CPA certification requirement in just two additional semesters.

The BS in Accounting is built on a strong business core and a rigorous set of accounting-specific courses, totaling 124 credit hours.

Business Core

Students complete foundational courses in business principles, management, financial and managerial accounting, business law, statistics and analytics, marketing, finance, and professional development — the same strong business foundation shared across Barnett School programs.

Accounting Core

Accounting-specific coursework covers accounting information systems, financial accounting, cost accounting, federal taxation, and auditing, alongside a required internship that puts classroom knowledge to work in professional settings.

General Education and Electives

Additional hours in FSC's WRIGHT Foundations, BS degree requirements, and electives round out the full 124-credit degree.
